ABOUT THE TEAM

Our Animal Services team run our 28 Centres, from Kerikeri to Invercargill, they are our Inspectorate who respond to rescue, cruelty and neglect calls and seek justice for our animals and they are our Community Operations team who lead volunteers, fosterers, community based initiatives and more. These teams are essential in us being able to do the work we do.

Our Animal Services Team are a hive of activity where every day is dedicated to animal welfare, community connection and making a real difference. Our people are kind, resilient, customer centric and calm under pressure.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for a General Manager Animal Services to join our Senior Leadership Team. You will lead the Animal Services team to ensure they are a well-functioning and capable team that deliver strong and sustained operational performance.

You will influence national animal welfare outcomes at scale, drive meaningful and futuredefining change, and transition our team to a new, futurefocused service delivery model.

You will drive national consistency across animal centres, inspectorate functions, and volunteer programmes. You will develop and implement national strategy and annual operational plans that deliver tangible and sustainable results.

Building strong mutual relationships is key in a role at this level, this includes relationships internally and with MPI, Police, local government, veterinarians, and key partners.

You will support capital developments, process improvement and enhance our brand and reputation any chance you get.

ABOUT YOU

You’re an animal advocate, you are passionate about animal welfare, care and education. Our vision, purpose and values resonate with you and you have a love for working with both humans and animals.

You have experience working in a complex organisation at a senior leadership level and have led multi-site and multi-discipline operations teams before, this is not new to you.  You have strong strategic, financial, and operational leadership capability and a collaborative, empowering leadership style.

You have exceptional communication and relationshipbuilding ability, this is almost second nature to you.
