NOTIFICATION AND CONSENT STATEMENT (“STATEMENT”) 

In this Statement, a reference to “Organisation”, “we”, “our” or “us” includes SPCA and its current and future related bodies corporate and affiliates. “You” or “your” refer to the person or persons giving their consent. Described below are the terms and conditions for obtaining access to certain parts of, or making use of certain features of the SPCA’s website https://www.spca.nz/

Please read this information carefully and thoroughly.

What will your information be used for?

The information you provide on this site is collected by us for the purpose of considering you for employment or to update you on employment opportunities.

If your application is successful, we will retain your information as part of your employment records. If your application is unsuccessful, we may retain your information on file and may contact you if a suitable alternative employment opportunity arises or if there are other positions available that may be of interest to you.

Please contact Recruitment@spca.nz if you do not wish for your information to be retained on file.

What information do we need from you?

To be considered for employment or to be updated on employment opportunities, you will be asked to provide us with personal information. This information includes but is not limited to:

  • Your name
  • Address
  • Contact Details
  • Resume/CV
  • Education background
  • Employment History
  • Referees
  • Results of Ministry of Justice Checks or completion of a Ministry of Justice Check (funded by SPCA)

If you choose not to provide any of the information requested, we will be unable to send you information, fully process your application or properly consider you for employment.

All information submitted to us must be true and correct. You must not post or upload inaccurate, incomplete, false or misleading information.

How your information will be collected?

We collect information from you when you complete the online application form as well as at other stages during the selection process, i.e. collection of references. We require this information to be able to consider your application within our organisation and we will be unable to contact you to advise of your progress with the selection process without this information.

Storage and access of your information

Your on-line information will be held by a Third Party Data Centre, and is only available for access by us. No access will be provided to any other outside party. Should you wish to change any of your details, this must be done online through your candidate profile. It is your responsibility to keep your information current.

Who your information may be disclosed to?

We may disclose the information you submit verbally to referees, or to other managers within our organisation (where you are considered for other recruitment opportunities.

The disclosure of your information is for the purposes of processing your application for employment and/or identifying other employment opportunities for you.

Other than as stated here, we will not disclose personal information you provide to any outside party, except where you provide your express permission to do so.

Pre-employment Checks

Any offer of employment will be subject to you obtaining all necessary pre-employment checks, which may include (not limited to), Ministry of Justice clearance, proof of education or driving license, as required for your position.

Application Disclosure

As part of the application process there are a few questions we require you to answer. All questions asked are relevant to the role as well as our legal and client obligations. Before continuing with your application, we ask that you read and consent to the following.

Our organisation (SPCA) is committed to providing a safe working environment. As part of this commitment, we need to ensure that employees meet the inherent requirements of their role and are not required to perform duties that they may not be able to perform safely.

We advise that failure to disclose any and all relevant physical, medical or any other illness, injury or condition, or any past or pre-existing illness, injury or condition suffered by you which may affect your ability to fulfil the position(s) applied for may result in you being dis-entitled to claim compensation pursuant to the relevant workers compensation laws in respect of any further injury or illness, recurrence, exacerbation or aggravation of this injury, disease or condition.
