15/07/2026
05/08/2026
Fixed Term - Full Time
Auckland-West
Operations

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Business Improvement Lead to join our Transformation Team on a fixed term, full time basis and work with our 27 Centres across Aotearoa, where we work every day to support animals, communities and each other.

You will -

  • Shape how Animal Services operates nationally
  • Create practical and consistent systems, processes and ways of working that make life easier for our frontline teams
  • Lead operational excellence across our national network
  • Turn great ideas into practical national systems, playbooks and operating standards

Working closely with the General Manager Animal Services, Area Managers, Centre teams and the Animal Services Support team, you’ll get out into Centres, listen to our people doing the work, understand what is working well and where things can be improved. All to help deliver even better welfare outcomes for animals.

We’re looking for someone who is solutions-focused and energised by making meaningful change. You’ll be comfortable asking “why?”, bringing fresh thinking to complex operational challenges and guiding people through change in a supportive and practical way.

If you enjoy partnering with frontline teams, improving how work gets done and seeing your ideas make a real difference for animals and the communities we serve, this could be the role for you.

ABOUT YOU

You’re a curious, commercially minded improvement specialist who knows great organisations are built through clear systems, consistent processes and empowered people.

You enjoy working with frontline teams to understand how things really work, identify opportunities, simplify processes and support teams to perform at their best.

You’re confident challenging the status quo, testing new ideas and bringing people on the journey through clear communication, practical change support and strong stakeholder engagement.

You’ll bring -

  • Experience in operational excellence, business improvement, transformation or similar
  • Strong business analysis, process mapping and project delivery skills
  • Change management, facilitation, coaching and stakeholder engagement capability
  • Experience developing operating models, SOPs, playbooks or practical tools that support consistent service delivery
  • Analytical skills, a collaborative approach and confidence using data and insights to drive decisions
  • Experience in a customer or service-focused, multi-site environment

Lean, Six Sigma or similar experience would be an advantage, but practical experience delivering measurable operational improvements is what matters most.

OUR PURRKS

Our team is full of passionate, purpose-driven people who love animals and want to make the world a kinder and more compassionate place. Some other purrks include –

  • To be a part of the greater good – to have the privilege of making a difference to the welfare of animals across New Zealand
  • Consistent support and an opportunity to continue to learn
  • Opportunity to bring fresh thinking and new ideas to get involved in projects that can build on the solid foundation that we have
  • Work with like minded people
  • Bring your dog to work
  • Flexible work options
  • Parking onsite or close to the building
  • A paid day off on your birthday

ABOUT THE TEAM

We are a tight and diverse group of passionate humans who are staunchly dedicated to improving animal welfare, advocating for positive change and making a real difference in animals lives.
