ABOUT THE ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for a National Operations Project Manager to join our team for a 7-month fixed term contract.
We are at the tail end of our “new build” Centre in Wiri and we need an experienced PM to take us through the rest of the journey. Our intention is that Wiri is fit for purpose, a place to enable our people to treat, care for and house our animals, a place where our animals are comfortable.
This project encompasses the final fit-out of the new Centre and the move from our current site in Mangere. This is a high-risk project that will include the move of all of Mangere staff, equipment and most importantly our animals, including our most vulnerable.
You will plan and lead all aspects of the move, including what we take with us and what we need to buy in. You will work closely with the Mangere site and our internal stakeholders, gathering feedback around what works best for the teams and animals in the centres.
You will maintain focus and awareness of the timeframe, financials, forecasts and ensure risks are mitigated.
ABOUT YOU
You’re an animal advocate, you are passionate about animal welfare, care and education. Our vision, purpose and values resonate with you and you have a love for working with both humans and animals.
You will also have –
- Proven success in project management in a complex organisation
- Previous experience with a high-risk site move - this won’t be new to you, you’ve done this before
- Experience and knowledge of common project management methodologies
- Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring, and controlling projects
- Experienced and proficient in forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis
- Strong people skills, with the ability to build trust quickly, communicate clearly, influence stakeholders, and work collaboratively with teams across operational, support, and leadership functions
OUR PURRKS
Our team is full of passionate, purpose-driven people who love animals and want to make the world a kinder and more compassionate place. Some other purrks include –
- To be a part of the greater good – to have the privilege of making a difference to the welfare of animals across New Zealand
- Opportunity to bring fresh thinking and new ideas
- To get involved in one of the biggest move projects we have undertaken
- To work with like minded people
- On site parking available
