That's why we're looking for a Programme Lead – Community Engagement to lead the delivery of initiatives that connect communities with the support, education and resources they need to improve animal welfare. This could include school visits, community drop-ins, microchipping and vaccination drives, education sessions, community events, and connecting people with animal welfare support. From small local initiatives through to coordinated national programmes, this work helps create better outcomes for animals, their owners, and communities across New Zealand

• Full Time – Monday to Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
• Flexible location – Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch preferred (other locations considered)
• Hybrid working – Enjoy a mix of working from home and from your local SPCA Centre

Working within our National Community Operations team, you'll lead the coordination, delivery, and ongoing development of SPCA’s community engagement activity across New Zealand. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys connecting strategy with action, bringing people together and turning great ideas into programmes that work on the ground.

What You'll Be Doing

• Coordinate the delivery of community engagement programmes and initiatives across New Zealand.
• Support the rollout and continuous improvement of community outreach, education and preventative animal welfare programmes.
• Build positive relationships with SPCA Centres, Community Support Officers, community organisations and local partners.
• Monitor programme performance, identify opportunities for improvement and use feedback to strengthen programme delivery.
• Coordinate projects, resources and reporting to support consistent programme outcomes.
• Develop practical tools, resources and processes that support consistent, sustainable programme delivery.
• Work collaboratively across teams to balance national consistency with local community needs.

What we're looking for

• Experience coordinating and delivering community programmes, operational initiatives or multi-site projects.
• Strong organisation and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and keep programmes on track.
• Experience supporting the rollout and implementation of new initiatives across teams or locations.
• Confident using data, insights and feedback to monitor performance, identify opportunities and support continuous improvement.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trusted relationships.
• A practical, solutions-focused approach, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
