Our Inspectorate Teams work on the frontline everyday, being the first port of call, helping animals who are abused or neglected, are injured or vulnerable. Our Inspectorate Teams are the humans who intervene on their behalf.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for an Inspectorate Administrative Support to join our Inspectorate team based at our Mangere site, in a fixed term (6 month contract), part-time (20 hours per week) role. Specific days and hours are flexible although must be worked within business hours.

In this role, you will be focused on providing critical and high quality administrative support to our warranted Inspectors, including supporting the reduction of complaints backlog, improving file quality, and strengthening data accuracy across systems.

You will spend your time managing case documentation, progressing case-related administration, reporting and responding to correspondence. You will ensure our systems and records are accurate, complete, well-organised and meet legal compliance standards. You will assist with inbox management, task triaging, and workflow coordination.

Working this close to our Inspectors will give you true insight to the great work they do, every day.

ABOUT YOU

You’re an animal advocate, you are passionate about animal welfare, care and education. Our vision, purpose and values resonate with you and you have a love for working with both humans and animals.

You will also have –

  • Previous Inspectorate experience or strong working knowledge of Inspectorate processes
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality
  • Confidence working with systems, databases, and Microsoft Office
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate empathy, resilience, and a positive attitude
  • Have an interest in animal welfare and improving animal welfare outcomes

The SPCA helps protect over 30,000 animals every year. By rescuing, rehabilitating, sheltering and advocating for animals, we are directly improving their lives. Our Animal Services teams run our 28 Centres, from Kerikeri to Invercargill and they are essential in us being able to do the work we do.
