Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for a:

  • Truck Driver – Op Shop Team
  • Part-Time (33 hours per week)
  • Monday – Thursday 8:45 am - 5:00 pm

Based out of Queenstown, this role is key to keeping our Op Shops well-stocked and helping donations reach their next home. You'll be responsible for driving one of our SPCA trucks to collect and deliver goods between shops, donors, and sorting facilities, ensuring great service and efficiency every step of the way.

ABOUT YOU

You’re an experienced driver who enjoys being on the road, meeting people, and working with purpose. You take pride in safe driving, good planning, and providing excellent service. You’ll also be part of a tight-knit team that supports our wider animal welfare work across New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive SPCA trucks to pick up and deliver goods to shops and donors across the region.
  • Greet donors and customers professionally, ensuring great service and gratitude.
  • Maintain and care for the truck, reporting maintenance needs, keeping it clean, and ensuring it's fuelled.
  • Work closely with shop staff and volunteers to ensure donations are handled properly and respectfully.
  • Plan daily routes and complete all necessary paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Ensure safe loading, unloading, and transport of goods.
  • Follow all road rules, SPCA policies, and Health & Safety procedures.

Skills & Experience

  • Full, clean driver’s licence, class 1 (motor vehicle) and confidence in operating and taking care of basic maintenance of a small truck (manual and auto).
  • Physically fit and capable of regularly lifting cartons and furniture as this is a daily part of the role.
  • Resilient, positive and people orientated with the ability to relate to team members, customers and donors from diverse backgrounds.
  • Previous experience in goods delivery, courier, removals, or a similar driving role.
  • Route planning ability and able to re prioritise schedule/workload when required
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
