Our Op Shops are known for their friendly volunteer teams, quality second-hand finds, and strong support from the local community. Whether you're working the shop floor, processing donations, or chatting with customers, you'll be making a difference every day

ABOUT THE ROLE 

We have an exciting opportunity at our Onehunga SPCA Op Shop for a: 

• Casual Op Shop Assistant 

• On Call Casual Hours as required to cover leave, busy periods, and weekends 

• Cover Onehunga/Royal Oak/Three Kings 

Key Responsibilities 

• Work sole charge on scheduled or on call days, taking full responsibility for daily shop operations. 

• Sort, price, and merchandise donated goods following SPCA guidelines. 

• Keep the shop tidy, welcoming, and fully stocked throughout the day. 

• Deliver warm, helpful customer service and assist with sales. 

• Accurately handle cash and support daily banking processes. 

• Assist in guiding and supporting volunteers during your shift. 

• Follow all health & safety procedures and SPCA policies. 

ABOUT YOU 

You’re enthusiastic, adaptable, and enjoy variety in your work. Whether you’re sorting stock, helping customers, or stepping in for a shift at short notice, you’re always ready to help and happy to be part of a cause that makes a real difference for animals. 

Skills & Experience 

• Previous experience in retail or customer service preferred. 

• A flexible and reliable approach to work weekdays, weekends and short-notice shifts. 

• A positive attitude and great communication skills. 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

• Physically able to carry out manual tasks such as lifting and sorting stock.
