ABOUT US
SPCA is one of New Zealand’s most trusted charities, protecting over 30,000 animals every year through rescue, rehabilitation, sheltering, and advocacy. Since 1872, we’ve been committed to creating a kinder world for animals and now we need a strategic, organised leader to help us do more.
ABOUT THE ROLE
SPCA is seeking a strategic, organised, and results-driven leader to join our National Volunteer and Foster team. Based in the South Island, you’ll work closely with local SPCA Centres to lead and grow our regional volunteer and foster programs, ensuring consistency, engagement, and excellence across the volunteer lifecycle.

This is a permanent, full-time role:
- 40 hours, Tuesday–Saturday 8:00am-5:00pm
- Hybrid role, with at least two days per week onsite.
- Must be based near a Southern SPCA Centre (Greymouth, Christchurch, Timaru, Dunedin or Invercargill)
You’ll be responsible for:
- Lead, support, and empower Centre staff, volunteers, and foster families
- Drive consistency and quality across volunteer processes, training, and engagement
- Implement national initiatives and projects across the South Island
- Analyse data and insights to continually improve volunteer and foster experiences
