ABOUT THE ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Improvement Analyst to join our team in Hobsonville, Auckland. We’re also open to remote working for the right candidate who is located near one of our SPCA centres.

As a Business Improvement Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of strategic and operational business improvement initiatives. You will work collaboratively across the organisation to scope, analyse, and document business requirements, develop business cases, collaborate on solution design, create user stories, and support project teams. This role is perfect for someone who can show their work, clearly articulating the processes, tools, systems, and stakeholders they have engaged with to deliver measurable outcomes. You will work across teams to identify inefficiencies, recommend improvements, and help ensure projects deliver real impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scope, gather, and document business requirements through interviews, workshops, and analysis.
  • Develop and present comprehensive business cases to support project proposals and investment decisions.
  • Lead and analyse the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, including preparing documentation, identifying potential vendors, evaluating vendor submissions, and collaborating with existing vendors.
  • Map and analyse current business processes to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including requirements specifications, process maps, and user stories.
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and communications with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes, systems, and organisational performance.

ABOUT YOU
You are a strategic thinker with strong organisational and analytical skills, turning insight into action. You excel at translating business needs into actionable requirements and have a passion for improving business processes and organisational outcomes. You thrive in complex environments, communicate effectively, and build strong relationships with stakeholders.

You will also have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3+ years’ experience in business analysis, business improvement, or a similar role.
  • Proven experience in process mapping, requirements gathering, vendor engagement, and business case development.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
  • Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP, CCBA, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Technical business requirement writing experience is beneficial.
