Job Description

About The Role

  • Casual Role
  • On Call Casual - no guaranteed hours per week
  • SPCA Auckland (Mangere)

 

Your enthusiasm and dedication will see you 

•    Dealing with enquiries regarding adoption of animals under the care of SPCA Mangere in person, via phone calls or email. 
•    Coordinating and working with volunteers, foster parents and other departments within the centre with an aim to improve animal pathways through the centre and the volunteer experience.
•    Monitoring animal health and behaviour as well as administering medication
•    Enhancing opportunities for socialisation and enrichment at the shelter.

 

What we need from you    

•    Have practical animal-handling experience and knowledge in particular caring for farm animals i.e chickens, pigs, goats, sheep etc
•    Have applicable tertiary qualifications e.g animal care, behaviour or welfare.
•    Can work in a fast-paced environment and must hve a love for working with both people and animals.
•    Have excellent communication and customer service skills, be solutions focused with friendly and a positive can-do attitude
•    Demonstrate empathy and resilience
•    Have excellent organisational skills and be able to prioritise and effectively manage workloads
•    Have strong administration and computer skills
•    Active, physically able to cope with the rigor of the job
•    Full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence.
