Location: SPCA Op Shop Mt Eden, Auckland
Role Type: Permanent, Part-time
Hours: Sunday & Monday, 8.45am – 5.15pm (with flexibility to occasionally pick up weekday shifts if needed)

 

We’re excited to be opening a new SPCA Op Shop in Mt Eden! This is a high foot traffic location with a vibrant, diverse customer base and we’re looking for a dependable and experienced individual to help us bring this store to life. This is a hands-on role where you'll take pride in supporting the day-to-day running of the shop, working alongside our incredible team of volunteers and helping to create a warm, welcoming space for everyone who walks through our doors.

 

This role is ideal for someone with:

  • Significant retail experience, second-hand or charity shop experience
  • Availability to work Sundays and Mondays 8.45am–5.15pm
  • Flexibility to cover additional weekday shifts if required (non negotiable)
  • Confidence to work independently and manage volunteers
  • An interest in engaging with a high-volume, diverse customer base in a vibrant community setting

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support a team of volunteers during your shifts
  • Provide outstanding customer service to our shoppers
  • Sort, price, and merchandise donated goods to maximise sales
  • Maintain a clean and organised store, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere
  • Process daily cash handling, banking, and administrative tasks
  • Assist in visual merchandising of fashion, homewares, and more
  • Ensure that the shop meets health and safety standards
  • Stay highly organised, effectively prioritising tasks and managing workloads
  • Use strong administration and computer skills, including POS systems, to support daily operations
  • Represent the SPCA’s mission with professionalism and passion in all aspects of your work
