Location: SPCA Op Shop –St Heliers, Auckland
Role Type: Permanent, Full-time
Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 8.45am – 5.15pm

 

This is an exciting opportunity for someone ready to build something from the ground up, establishing a high-performing, community-focused store that supports SPCA’s mission to care for animals in need.

This is a unique and high-impact role, and we are looking for someone with a proven track record in retail leadership, ideally within the second-hand or vintage space. Strong local knowledge and community connections will be highly valued.

 

Key Responsibilities:
•    Recruit, lead, and support a team of dedicated volunteers
•    Deliver excellent customer service and meet sales targets
•    Accept, process, price, and present donated goods to a high standard
•    Ensure a clean, attractive, and welcoming store environment
•    Use visual merchandising to maximise appeal and revenue
•    Drive community engagement and donation support, through local networks and social media
•    Oversee stock quality and pricing in line with national guidelines
•    Manage cash handling, banking, daily admin, and health and safety

 

About You:
•    Minimum of 2 years in a retail leadership role
•    Experience in second-hand or preloved fashion retail is an advantage
•    Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills
•    Comfortable with retail admin, POS systems, and Microsoft Office
•    Demonstrated ability to lead, train and inspire volunteers
•    Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multitask
•    Confident using social media to promote and grow community engagement
•    Motivated, practical, and passionate about SPCA’s mission
