About the role
• Permanent, part time role
• 16 hours per week, Monday to Sunday - one weekend day will be required
• Working hours will be from 8.00am to 5.00pm
• SPCA Centre Dunedin
Your enthusiasm and dedication will see you:
• Provide exceptional customer service to all visitors, volunteers, foster parents and colleagues.
• Be our go-to people-person for the animals and community
• Respond timely and professionally to calls, queries, emails with accurate and helpful information
• Work to ensure that the reception is operating in an effective and responsive manner, ensuring best animal outcomes too
• Process animal adoptions including discussions with potential adopters to match the right animals with the right person
• Triage animal ambulance calls, schedule foster pick up and return appointments and induct our new foster parents
• Be able to jump in and help where required across the centre
What we need from you:
• Have excellent communication and customer service skills be solutions focused with friendly and a positive can-do attitude
• Have previous customer service experience ideally within an animal-related organisation
• Understand animal welfare (animal handling experience or qualification would be advantageous)
• Demonstrate empathy and resilience
• Have excellent organisational skills and be able to prioritise and effectively manage workloads
• Have strong administration, computer skills and merchandising experience
