ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Op Shop Assistant for our SPCA Timaru Op Shop. This permanent part-time role is 14 hours per week, Sunday 9:45am-4:15pm & Monday 8:45am-5:15pm with flexibility to cover additional shifts. 

What you’ll do:
•    Manage the daily operations while optimizing sales revenue through excellent customer service
•    Lead and train the volunteer team
•    Oversee sales, visual merchandising, and product displays
•    Help achieve sales budgets to support animal welfare initiatives
•    Handle daily cash up and banking procedures
•    Ensure a high standard of online sales service
•    Maintain a safe and tidy work environment
•    Completing computer-related administration and courses

 

ABOUT YOU
You are an experienced retail professional with a passion for animal welfare. 
What you’ll bring:
•    Have retail experience; second-hand retail is an advantage
•    Leadership experience, ideally managing volunteers in the not-for-profit sector
•    Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
•    Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively
•    Proficiency in computer administration and cash handling
•    Experience in visual merchandising
