Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Op Shop Assistant to oversee the daily operations, with the key focus of optimising sales revenue through excellent customer service and leading our Op Shop team on a Monday with also flexibility to cover other days. You will have good attention to detail and the ability to visual merchandise and present a retail shop to maximise revenue.  The role will also include assisting with covering the Op Shop Managers leave throughout the year.

The position will be busy, challenging, rewarding and fun!

  • Customer service and sales
  • Leading the volunteer team
  • Visual merchandising and display 
  • Achieving sales budgets to fundraise for animal welfare
  • Delivering a high standard of online sales service
  • Undertaking daily cash up and banking
  • Maintaining the Health and Safety of the shop
  • Completing computer related administration and courses

Our ideal candidate will

  • Have min 2 years previous retail experience, second hand retail experience would be an advantage
  • Have people leadership experience, ideally within the not-for-profit sector with volunteers 
  • Have excellent communication and customer service skills, be solutions focused with friendly and a positive can-do attitude
  • Be a self-motivated team player with resilience, a positive attitude and a willingness to work hard
  • Demonstrate empathy and resilience
  • Have excellent organizational skills and be able to prioritize and effectively manage workloads
  • Have strong administration, computer skills and merchandising experience.
