About the role
- Permanent part time role
- 13.5 hours per week, Fridays and Sundays
- SPCA Centre Christchurch
Your enthusiasm and dedication will see you:
- Ensure that animals are treated and cared for to the highest standards of performance.
- Ensure all animal interventions are performed in a safe and professional manner, ensuring both staff and animals are safe at all times.
- Work with animal owners to educate them on the well-being and welfare of animals as appropriate.
- Enhancing opportunities for socialisation, enrichment and behaviour modification for the animals in the shelter. Provide assistance with the appropriate preparation of the surgical environment including instruments and drapes.
What we need from you:
- An experienced veterinary nurse with proven clinical skills.
- Have the ability to work in a high performance, fast paced environment.
- Have excellent communication and time management skills.
- Be a self-motivated team member, who is enthusiastic and passionate about animal welfare.
- Be a quick thinker who is skilled at multi-tasking and able to prioritise and effectively manage workloads.
- Demonstrate empathy and resilience.
