Are you an experienced leader with a passion for animal welfare and community service? The SPCA is on the lookout for a highly skilled Animal Services Partnerships Manager to join our dynamic team and help shape the future of animal care across New Zealand.
As a key member of our Animal Services team, you will play an essential role in driving forward SPCA’s mission by strengthening national veterinary partnerships, leading volunteer and foster programs, and ensuring operational excellence across all our Centres. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact, working at the intersection of animal welfare, community engagement, and strategic operations.

About the role

  • Permanent full-time role
  • Monday to Friday 40 hours per week
  • SPCA Nationwide (South Island preferred)

Your enthusiasm and dedication will see you:

  • Manage and coordinate national veterinary partnerships, ensuring operational efficiency, sustainability, and strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Support the development and implementation of a standardised national approach to foster and volunteer management, enhancing engagement, training, and retention.
  • Oversee Purina operational support, including stock supply, ordering, and managing compliance with partnership terms.
  • Continuously audit and improve administrative systems to streamline operations, leveraging emerging technologies to enhance our work.
  • Act as a key liaison to maintain and grow partnerships with SPCA Centres, veterinary providers, community stakeholders, and volunteers.

What we need from you:

  • Proven leadership with a strong track record of managing stakeholders, teams, and budgets.
  • Strategic thinker with experience in project management, system improvements, and operational coordination.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including public speaking and presenting to diverse audiences.
  • A passion for animal welfare, and ideally, experience in shelter management or veterinary services.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and foster collaboration across a range of stakeholders.
  • Business acumen, with experience in financial management and operational efficiency.
  • A commitment to community engagement, working with volunteers and foster carers to enhance SPCA’s impact.
